Frequently Asked Questions 

What is the minimum age requirement for admission? 

Preschoolers must be two and half years of age by the first day of school. 

Applicants to the Elementary programs must be of age by October 31st of the year they wish to attend,(6 for First Grade, 7 for Second Grade, 8 for Third Grade, etc.). 

Who comes when? 

Initial tours of the campus are generally for adults only and can be made before an application is submitted. 

Parent Observations are for adults only and can be scheduled before an application is submitted. We encourage all prospective parents to observe the program in which their child would be enrolled. 

All students must visit the school for teacher interview. Preschoolers will be screened for basic readiness; older children will be evaluated for skill level and compatibility with the Montessori system. Candidates for the Elementary program are required to spend at least one regular school day with the class in which they would be enrolled. 

What do I do if I have to cancel a scheduled appointment? 

If you must cancel an appointment for either observation or interview, please call the school immediately at 804 693-6455. We will make every effort to reschedule your appointment, but keep in mind that our enrollment season is very busy and rescheduling may be difficult. We will do everything we can to help you complete the enrollment process as quickly as possible. 

How will I be notified of the school's admission  decision? 

You will receive a phone call from an administrative staff member with several days of  your child's acceptance status. You will then receive a tuition contract and other registration documents and further information regarding the completion of the enrollment process.
